As the decades roll by
subtle changes embark
molecules radically rearranged
no words spoke volume muted
bones and joints yelling decibel ten
Ten years past
aches pains felt little
stringed racket in tow
court coverage line to line
competition welcomed
Composite paddle now in hand
court smaller “I got your back”
knees back stiffer step slower
fuzzy eyesight calls made
before whiffle ball kisses the cement
Spotted skin…am I now an owl?
genetically cursed species perhaps
elastically largest organ
flapping when clapping
C or D cup on the way
Help me touch my toes
just ankles or shins okay
forgetting what I’m trying to remember
still vertical at sunrise
thankful for another day
ther day
